Abstract

Waste management problems in society remain an issue that requires collective and serious attention. The low level of public awareness regarding waste management has led to an increase in household waste volumes, negatively impacting both the environment and public health. One solution developed within the community is the waste bank system as a community empowerment-based waste management approach. However, several obstacles are still encountered, including low community participation, suboptimal organizational management, and limited use of digital media as an educational and promotional tool. This community service activity aimed to improve public understanding of the importance of waste banks through human resource management and digital marketing approaches. The methods used included observation, socialization, interactive presentations, training sessions, and discussion with the community and managers of Bank Sampah Akasia Berseri, led by Mrs. Harni Hartini, located in Bukit Pamulang Indah Housing Area, South Tangerang City. Approximately 40 participants took part, comprising local residents, waste bank managers, and the implementation team. Results showed that the community began to understand the importance of proper waste management, organizational roles in waste bank operations, and the benefits of social media as a promotional and environmental education tool. This activity is expected to support the development of a more active, organized, and sustainable waste bank.
